This week we had started to do an artist notebook, drawing many different paintings from the Surrealism, Impressionism, and many more movements. When I was drawing on the artist notebook, it took a lot of time and work to make the paintings. The painting were not perfect but I did my very best on all of the eight paintings. "A Sunday Afternoon on La Grande Fatte" by Georges Seurat was pretty hard to draw, the painting has a lot of details.

Last week, I learned about the astrolabe. The astrolabe can measure time and mostly anything in the universe.  Then we learned more about the artists. I learned many different techniques of paintings and different stories about the artists' lives. Here are some examples about the arts and artists. Caravaggio did a technique for the arts called tenebrism. Which means "dark manner." Pozzo made a painting called "Triumph of St. Ignatius of Loyola." He uses quadratura, which used to trick the eye into believing that the architecture of the church, its columns and arches, extends past the actual ceiling. Lastly, the three goals of the Counter-reformation of arts were clarity, realism, and emotions.

On this week, we did started to find the lines from any of Shakespeare's play and wrote ten through twenty lines. Then we have to memorize them until Friday. It was not easy to memorize all of the lines, since I have a hard time remembering the lines. I studied and tried to memorize the lines at home, and I learned the whole thing. Then the next day I have to perform it, and I only remembered half of my lines. I even look at the lines and to memorize in all my classes  if I have any free time to do so. I also tried to memorize the lines at lunch, but it was so noisy.  When I got back towards lunch to my English class, we had a test. After the test, I got out my lines and tried to memorize them once again. Lastly, I went to Humanities to perform beginning of class, I only remembered half of my lines.

On Pico Della Mirandola's essay, it was about humanist. The humans would be ranked on the top with the angels, but the angels is at the very top then the humans. While the beasts is ranked at the very bottom in the Creator. The elements in which I agree Pico's Oration is about the faith. Faith is more about in what you believed in and what the opinion that you decided on. The point that I disagree on faith, is explaining your faith. When telling someone about your beliefs, it can offend someone or the person would not agree about it. I believe that flaws dignify humans, because we are not perfect, we are imperfect.

The classical music during the Renaissance era were more suited in a room like at someone's house, it's to create the sound to make classical sound. The music does not have any dynamics in the music but the tempo of the music could go fast or slow depending the develop of music. The music during that time did not have any beats, other than the instruments itself, such as the old violin that was playing on the certain website. The music too, you get to see more in live than just listening to it. It all depends on environment in any places, it would make any music that makes it. The chapel of an church in Europe, it make the Gregorian Chant music more Acapella, since it is only for voices to make it loud and strong in the head of the church, but it is not called monophonic. Monophonic was more as only one instrument, when polyphonic is made for several or more melodies. In Ted talk, the music is based of the root in the West African music that started the Western music. The fast beat is more into the outdoor environment, since it get more attention to people. Inside doors in the of the room is more into a calm and thrilling music.

In the  battle for the land in Jerusalem,  Christianity were fighting with the Muslim.  Tiberius was not a real character in real life, in the movie he was the king of Christianity and the main character in the movie. In the welfare, the Muslim did not used the fire into the arrows. The Muslims uses swords to fight and climb the walls to attack Christianity. They were using in the movie was arrows and using fire and stone, using a slinger to throw it at the Christianity. During that time Christianity took over the Muslims and the Eastern Orthodox Church.

What I learned about this week is about the Middle Ages. I learned about how the churches were built and it took at least one hundred years to finish the church. The only way to support the tall churches's roof was the flying buttress and the arch so it wouldn't fall down, but in years it can cause it to collaspe. I learned about the unicorn paintings and they were a series of paintings that's telling a story. Lastly, I learned about different religions such as Christianity, Judaism, and Islam.

In the gardens are the pleasure, it is for the rich and have a lot money to enjoy the garden. The cloister garden was for meditation. The kitchen garden was to have many of the vegetables and fruits for making meals. The medicinal garden was to plant herbs to make like a medicine for people to be cured. We made the garden we want to do, finding information and types of plants for the project.

In the video that I have learned about was that Rome was more freedom than it was in Greece.  Rome have public baths for men and women to go to gather and talk with each other, while being nude. Rome was more have a garden that people can go to see the views and enjoy, or even get to relax. I learned that the women during that time when they get married and they are pregnant, when they gave birth to the baby, most women wouldn't even survive the birth. Men were the dominant person in the family, while the slaves are the one who serves for the owner. While the children in the family could do anything that they wanted to do. That is what I learned about

11/22/13 - What I learned about Aeneid.
I learned that Aeneas went to the Underworld to see his future. Aeneas saw the future in Rome, as Caesar was ruling the Romans. Romans were growing and it's becoming a pretty good country when Caesar was ruling the Romans. Aeneas wants to find a new home for the Trojans.
